Nigella Seeds
Nigella seeds, also known as black cumin, kalonji, or by their botanical name Nigella sativa, are small, black, crescent-shaped seeds packed with distinctive flavor and numerous health benefits. These ancient seeds have been used for centuries in Middle Eastern, Indian, and Mediterranean cuisines, as well as in traditional medicine systems.
Nigella seeds have a mildly bitter, peppery, and slightly onion-like flavor, making them a flavorful addition to bread, curries, pickles, and salads. Revered as a “seed of blessing,” nigella seeds also hold a prominent place in Ayurvedic and Unani medicine for their digestive, anti-inflammatory, and immune-supporting properties.
