Custard Apple
Custard apple, also known as Sugar Apple, Sweetsop, or Sitaphal in India, is a tropical fruit from the Annonaceae family. Its botanical name is Annona squamosa. The fruit is round to heart-shaped with a bumpy, scaly green outer skin and a creamy, sweet, custard-like pulp inside.
The flesh is soft, aromatic, and filled with several glossy black seeds. Custard apple is highly valued for its delicious flavor, creamy texture, and high nutritional content, particularly rich in vitamins, minerals, and natural sugars.
It is mainly grown in tropical and subtropical regions and is enjoyed both fresh and in processed forms like smoothies, ice creams, and desserts.
