Arecanuts

Areca nut (Areca catechu), also known as betel nut or supari, is the seed of the areca palm, widely cultivated in tropical Asia, parts of East Africa, and the Pacific. It is oval or conical in shape, with a hard outer shell and a brownish, fibrous interior. Areca nuts are typically chewed for their mild stimulant effect, often wrapped in betel leaves along with slaked lime and other flavorings.

Apart from traditional chewing, areca nuts are also used in cultural rituals, Ayurvedic medicine, and certain industrial applications. India is one of the largest producers and consumers of areca nuts, with varieties like red supari (boiled and dried) and white supari (sun-dried) being most common.
