Dry Dates
Dry dates, commonly known as Kharek, are naturally sun-dried dates that have had most of their moisture removed, resulting in a chewy texture and a concentrated sweet flavor. These dates are traditionally consumed across India, the Middle East, and Africa, both as a nutritious snack and an ingredient in sweets, tonics, and health remedies.
Kharek is especially valued for its long shelf life, high energy content, and rich nutrient profile, including iron, calcium, fiber, and antioxidants. Unlike soft dates, dry dates are firm and can be soaked, ground into powder, or used whole in recipes.
